On Wednesday 13th November, I presented my Debt Relief (Developing Countries) Bill to Parliament. Above are the highlights of my speech.
If passed, this Bill would:
- Compel private creditors to actively participate in the debt relief process and accept the same terms as other lenders.
- Reduce the burden of debt for the poorest countries.
- Cost the Treasury absolutely nothing.
